Data Scientist, Product, Google One

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with analysis applications (e.g., extracting insights, performing statistical analysis, or solving business problems), and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
  • Experience in articulating product questions, pulling data from datasets (e.g., SQL), and using statistics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with experimental design, training, data analysis, survey design, and statistical modeling.
  • Experience in designing and delivering data warehousing solutions to deliver business insights.
  • Ability to complete projects separately and work with cross-functional teams in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to apply statistical training to data.
  • Ability to retrieve data sets using tools and coding.

Data Scientists provide quantitative support, market understanding and a strategic perspective to our partners throughout the organization. As a data-loving member of the team, you serve as an analytics expert for your partners, using numbers to help them make better decisions. You will weave stories with meaningful insight from data. You'll make critical recommendations for your fellow Googlers in Engineering and Product Management. You relish tallying up the numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a team leader the next.

In this role, You will partner with teams across Google to deliver valuable experiences to users that drive engagement and enhance loyalty, translating into subscription business growth and stronger platform retention.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Managers and Engineering to deliver robust analytics/experimentation infrastructure and processes that deliver insights and decision-making.
  • Partner with the ML team to deliver insights that accelerate ML-driven growth engine capabilities.
  • Identify business problems and come up with solutions that improve product and user experience, spanning Google One and its cross-product area partners.
